Manila treating me like a sir

Just wrapped up with our first day in Manila and we're totally exhausted. Overall the flights went very smoothly. What's crazy is that our 2 hour flight from Taipei to Manila had USB sockets, lunch served, and personal tvs to watch. We were treated better on that flight than our 4 hr delta flight from Minneapolis to SF where they throw a bag of peanuts at you and call it good. I really love flying in Asia.

My biggest worry during this part of the trip was having our luggage arrive with us considering the bookings were weird, but our bags did arrive safely with us which was a relief.

I had my Canon camera packed in my check in luggage, when we got out of the airport I pulled my camera out and turned it on to take a picture but nope, I forgot my SD card in my computer at home. Luckly I just got a new 32gb micro sd card for my phone last week so I just used my adapter and popped it into my camera. I'm feeling more and more like I'm a lot less prepared for this trip than I thought I was.

We checked into our hostel Our Melting Pot and it's pretty nice, the people are super friendly and the room is clean and has what we need.

Grabbed Korean bbq for lunch and went back to take a quick nap since we've got a 13 hr jet lag, the quick nap turned into a 4 hr snooze fest but we needed it.

Went to a place called Bonifacio High Street which was a long outdoor mall. Lots of families and couples hanging out in that area.

There was also a pet shop fair going on. I guess people are really into natural aquariums because there were a ton of them on display and they were really beautiful.

Also I pet a hedgehog and he freaked out and jerked his body and poked my finger. It was still cute though.

We were hoping to do the volcano tour tomorrow morning but they split the overall cost among the total people going, since it's just the two of us signed up, we'll wait until Sunday to do it.

One thing that I noticed right away is that no matter what, people referred to me as Sir. "Yes Sir" "Thank you Sir". It's a little weird because for once, someone is calling me Sir without adding "you're making a scene"

It's 11pm so bed time now I guess so that we can get rid of the jet lag.
